BDP
Product description:
Chinese name: Tetraphenyl (bisphenol A) diphosphate
Foreign name: BDP
Alias: Bisphenol A bis (diphenyl phosphate)
Molecular weight: 696.04
Appearance: colorless transparent liquid
Phosphate ester flame retardants are a type of environmentally friendly flame retardants that are halogen-free, low-smoke, and low-toxic. They have good compatibility with polymers and are widely used. However, most phosphate esters are liquids with small molecular weight, high volatility, and low heat resistance, which affects their flame retardant effect and durability. However, condensed bisphosphate esters with large molecular weight, high phosphorus content, and symmetrical structure can overcome the above problems. Defects are becoming more and more important. BDP is one of the most representative halogen-free aryl phosphates.

Ways to obtain
Based on foreign patents and domestic research progress, there are currently three main methods for synthesizing BDP:
(1) Phosphorus oxychloride reacts with bisphenol A to obtain bisphenol A tetrachlorobisphosphate, and then phenol is used for end-capping reaction to obtain the target product.
(2) Phosphorus oxychloride reacts with phenol to obtain diphenylphosphoryl chloride, and then reacts with bisphenol A to obtain the target product.
(3) Use sodium phenolate instead of phenol as the raw material, that is, use sodium phenolate to perform an end-capping reaction on bisphenol A tetrachlorobisphosphate to obtain the product.
Application
BDP is a halogen-free flame retardant, suitable for flame retardancy of ABS, EP, HIPS, SBS, PC, PPO and other adhesives.
