Product description:
Physical and chemical properties
The appearance of ammonium polyphosphate is white powder, which is close to neutral and can be mixed with any other substances, but it does not undergo chemical changes. Short-chain (n≤20) APP is water-soluble, while long-chain (n>20) APP is difficult to dissolve in water. The solubility of industrial APP in water is 1.3g/100mL (15℃) or 3.0g/100mL (25℃). Chemicalbook solubility increases significantly with increasing temperature. APP can be hydrolyzed, and the hydrolysis rate changes with particle size, temperature and pH value. As the temperature increases and the pH value decreases, the hydrolysis accelerates. APP has good thermal stability, and its thermal decomposition temperature is above 250°C. During decomposition, it releases ammonia and water, and generates phosphoric acid, which is completely decomposed at 700°C. 6% to 7% residue remains.
use
Ammonium polyphosphate is a polyphosphate containing N and P, referred to as APP. According to its degree of polymerization, it can be divided into three types: low polymerization, medium polymerization and high polymerization. When the degree of polymerization is below 20, it is called oligomerization and is water-soluble. When the degree of polymerization is above 50, it is called polymerization and can be used as a flame retardant. In the 1980s, considering factors such as price and cost, Chemicalbook oligomeric water-soluble APP was mainly used for flame retardancy on cellulosic materials such as paper and wood. High polymerization ammonium polyphosphate is widely used in intumescent fire retardant coatings, polyethylene, polypropylene, polyurethane, epoxy resin, rubber products, fiberboards and dry powder fire extinguishing agents. It is a safe and efficient nitrogen-phosphorus non-halogen smoke suppressant. Flame retardants.
As a flame retardant, it is used in flame retardant fibers, wood, plastics, fire retardant coatings, etc. Can be used as fertilizer. Inorganic additive flame retardant, used in the manufacture of flame retardant coatings, flame retardant plastics and flame retardant rubber products, etc.
chemical properties
Ammonium polyphosphate can be divided into three types according to its degree of polymerization: oligopolymer, medium polyphosphate, and high polymer. The greater the degree of polymerization, the smaller the water solubility. According to its structure, it can be divided into crystalline and amorphous forms. Crystalline ammonium polyphosphate is a water-insoluble and long-chain polyphosphate. There are five variants from I to V.
