Flame Retardant
DBDPE
Product description:
Decabromodiphenylethane is a widely used broad-spectrum additive flame retardant with the chemical formula C14H4Br10. The relative molecular mass is 971.31. It is white or light yellow powder. Slightly soluble in water, alcohol and ether. Melting point 357℃. The theoretical bromine content is 82.3%. It has high bromine content, good thermal stability, good UV resistance, and lower bleeding than other brominated flame retardants; it is especially suitable for flame retardant of high-end materials used in the production of computers, fax machines, telephones, copiers, home appliances, etc.
Physical and chemical properties
Dissociation constant (octanol/water): 3.2
Decabromodiphenylethane does not produce toxic polybrominated dibenzodioxane (PBDO) and polybrominated dibenzofurans (PBDF) when thermally cracked or burned. The flame-retardant materials used in it fully comply with European regulations on dibenzodioxane. The requirements of the Xingxin Ordinance do not cause harm to the environment.
Decabromodiphenylethane does not have any toxicity, nor does it cause any teratogenicity to organisms. It has no side effects on aquatic organisms such as fish. It can be said to meet the requirements of environmental protection.
Decabromodiphenylethane is quite stable in the system used, and flame-retardant thermoplastics using it can be recycled.
Decabromodiphenyl ethane has less adverse effects on the performance of flame retardant materials than the traditional flame retardant decabromodiphenyl ether, and has good light resistance and low leakage.

Application areas
Decabromodiphenyl ethane is a new, broad-spectrum, efficient and environmentally friendly additive flame retardant developed and produced in recent years. Its heat resistance, light resistance and resistance to dialysis are superior to decabromodiphenyl ether. , the flame retardancy of the two is basically the same, but the polybrominated dioxins problem that people are worried about will not occur when flame retardant, and the toxicity is lower than decabromodiphenyl ether. Although decabromodiphenyl ether was exempted in October 2005, it does not rule out the possibility that its production and use will still be banned more than ten years later. Therefore, decabromodiphenyl ethane is an excellent substitute for decabromodiphenyl ether. alternatives. Decabromodiphenylethane is suitable for adhesives and sealants such as polystyrene, polystyrene, ABS, epoxy resin, elastomers, etc.
